Why proper mowing makes a difference

Mowing isn't just about keeping the lawn tidy. How you mow - the height, the frequency, the pattern - directly affects grass health. Cut too short and you stress the grass, letting moss and weeds move in. Cut too infrequently and you remove too much leaf in one go, weakening the plant.

We adjust the cutting height through the season: slightly higher in summer to protect roots during heat and drought, gradually lower in autumn as growth slows. Your lawn stays healthy and consistent - not scalped and stressed.

Weekly or fortnightly?

It depends on your plan. Our Full Lawn Care plan includes weekly mowing as standard because the feeding programme makes the grass grow faster, and fortnightly cutting would stress the lawn. Our Cutting Only plan offers both weekly and fortnightly, because without feeding, the grass grows at its natural pace and fortnightly works fine.

Mowing questions

Do you mow in winter?
The main mowing season runs from March to October. If the grass keeps growing during mild, dry spells over winter, we’ll give it a light cut to keep things tidy. We don’t mow when the ground is frozen or waterlogged. Your monthly payment is spread evenly over 12 months regardless of cutting season.
What happens if it rains on my mowing day?
We don’t mow wet grass - it damages the lawn and gives a poor cut. We’ll reschedule to the next dry day within the same week where possible.
Can I combine mowing with lawn treatment?
Our Full Lawn Care plan combines weekly mowing with feeding, weed control, and the Autumn Renovation. One person, one monthly payment, everything handled.
How many cuts are included in my plan?
Your plan includes a fixed number of cuts per year: 30 on a weekly plan, 15 on a fortnightly plan. The mowing season runs from March to October, adjusted for actual growing conditions. We only count a cut when it actually happens. You never pay for a cut you don’t get.
What happens if you can’t cut my lawn one week?
If weather or ground conditions mean we can’t cut, that visit is not counted against your included cuts. It carries forward within your 12-month cycle. We never charge for a cut that didn’t happen.
What if I need more than my included cuts?
Extra cuts beyond your 30 (or 15) are billed at the same per-cut rate as your plan. No premium, no PAYG surcharge. That is a perk of being on a plan.
What happens to unused cuts at the end of the year?
At the end of your 12-month cycle, we reconcile cuts delivered against your included allocation. If there is a shortfall, you choose: carry them forward to next year, or receive a pro-rata refund. Your choice.
What happens if I cancel?
We ask for 30 days' notice. We settle pro-rata based on visits delivered so nobody overpays. If you have paid more than the value delivered, we refund the difference. Full details are in our terms and conditions.
